Today was beautiful...

I just love warm weather! It was so nice today - 87 degrees! A little windy - but warm! I am so tired of snow. I planted some flowers today & Thursday too. We went to my dad's today & fished a little & burned piles & piles of limbs that were downed by the ice storm. If we do that every weekend all summer - we just MIGHT get the farm cleaned up from all the tree debris! But the downside to the adventures of the day were....a little too much sun for me (Isaiah is fine) & we got into a nest of baby ticks. I bet I pulled off 2 dozen if not more that were crawling on me...they were even INSIDE my shoes. But I pulled 15 off that were actually attached. Makes me shudder and start feeling creepy crawlies all over me. Ticks don't bother me - but in large quantities like that - yuck. I hope people actually read this blog - otherwise I feel it is pointless for me to post anything. That is why I have no motivation - because no one ever comments or says anything. I feel like I am writting in a journal that is for others but no one reads. Does that make sense? If you read this or actually check in every once in a while, will you click the link just below this post that says "# comments, click here if you want to leave one!" and just say something - anything. Like - "hey I check in". If you don't have an account - just click "anonymous" just above the orange button. Thanks you...

My man....

They're Baacckkk!

I am a little late...but they made it back Saturday morning around 3:30 am. They were exhausted. Josh is still catching up. They didn't have the trip they expected - but they learned a few things. God had more in store for them than just putting a roof on a church - that is for sure!

Update on the guys...

Josh actually called me this morning. He said he was surprised he got through...but he found a signal & called. But he said that it probably is going to cost "a zillion dollars". We talked for 3 1/2 minutes. This is part of what I found out. I guess they won't get to work at the church because of the lack of supplies & funds. They have a few projects to do right there at the mission. They are building some rabbit cages for a rabbit project the mission is starting. Then the Eye Clinic needs some work done - electrical (Solar hook-up) & plumbing (toilet issues). Josh's uncle is a plumber & that work experience that he has with working with him might be helpful. They have a few other projects but he didn't tell me what they are because his time was limited. Josh is preaching twice today. He has a cold - so be praying for him. Otherwise they are doing really well.

UPDATE: Elijah

An update on Elijah - our friend's 4.5 month old son with a staff infection. He was able to go home from the hospital today!!!!!!!! But please continue to pray for him! He is not 100% yet.

Today's update...

They left for Marotier today - a village in the mountians to put the roof on the church. I won't have any updates for a while.

Another Haiti update...

They have their luggage...finally! They have been living out of their carry-ons since Tuesday! I think they are going to go to Marotier tomorrow to work on the Church. They will stay there until they are finished.

UPDATE #2: Haiti Trip

They are in Jolivert waiting on their luggage to come from Port de Paix (PDP). And they are waiting for the Pastor of the church they are putting the roof on to go buy the wood and have it sent to Marotier. He was supposed to already have that taken care of but oh well, everything runs on Haitian time down there. Garry went with Widson to PDP to get their luggage. Josh says Garry is a natural there.

UPDATE: Elijah

Please continue to pray for little Elijah! His staff infection became worse & he had to have surgery again on Monday. He is still in the hospital in Owensboro. Once he is fever free for 48 hours & his white blood count drops into the 7,000 to 10,000 range he can go home. He was doing well but started running a fever again this morning. He needs all the prayers he can get. They had to put the IV in his head - because he has been stuck so many times everywhere else. Pray for his parents too. They have not been able to get hardly any sleep...especially now that that IV is in his head- he keeps trying to rip it out. He hasn't slept hardly at all in the past 24 hours. Mom & dad are Becca & Brandon & the need your prayers too!
Just wanted to let everyone know Josh arrived safely in Haiti. They had to stay the night in Port au Prince, Haiti because the little plane that took them across the island was full. So they flew across the island this morning & were waiting for their luggage to come on the next flight because the plane they flew in on met it's weight limit & they had to leave their luggage in Port au Prince. I will give you more updates as I receive them. But please pray for him & the three others that went with him - Jimbo, Garry & Dakota.
